Eerste keer PDIV te water, Slotermeer.
En nu was het zover, nieuwe board voor het eerst gevaren.
Met Cobus en John op het Slotermeer, lekker windje rond de 12-14 knopen. 11 meter er op en testvaren maar. Ik had de dag ervoor nog snel mn favoriete vin pas gemaakt en de lichtgewicht voetbanden gemonteerd 😀
Een eerste keer is altijd afwachten en wennen, zo ook bij de PDIV. Ik had dezelfde afstelling als voorheen bij de PDIII. Eerste rakje was prima maar kon nauwelijks in de voetbanden komen, iets te strak gezet….
Heerlijk met Cobus en John rondgevaren. Na een eerste sessie de voetbanden ruimer gezet, verder de setting gelijk gehouden, giek eerder op het water al iets hoger gezet, prima zo. Met deze setting de rest van de middag gevaren.
Eerste indruk, WOW, wat ligt dit board hoog op het water, echt super fijn, geen last van buiswater. En het board springt echt heel snel aan en ik kan direct opsturen voor een aan de winds rak. Na een overstag actie is het board ook zo weer in plane, top. Planerend gijpen met het board is een stuk makkelijker dan op de PDIII, dus ook dat is fijn. Handling van het board is dan ook prima in orde! 👍👍
Vaareigenschappen, het board loopt snel, heel snel, dat had ik bij John al gezien maar nu ook zelf ervaren. Heel weinig last van windgaten, board blijft doorgaan. Downwind erg snel EN omdat het board zo hoog op het water ligt geen golf geraakt downwind. Erg makkelijk over de golfjes te sturen. Kortom ook de vaareigenschappen helemaal prima.
Eind van de middag nog een rakje met John gevaren en de trim en de balans is direct al heel goed. John, ook op een PDIV, had toch moeite om de snelheid en de hoogte bij te benen. Heerlijk gevaren en een top eerste indruk van het nieuwe board. Gaan nog leuke dagen worden 😃😃
